Project ECHO technical assistance,
training and support

Project ECHO® is a lifelong learning and guided practice model that revolutionizes education and exponentially increases workforce capacity to provide best-practices and reduce disparities.

The heart of the ECHO model™ is its hub-and-spoke knowledge-sharing networks, led by expert teams who use multi-point videoconferencing to conduct virtual clinics with community providers. For more information, go to echo.unm.edu.

“Erika did a wonderful job as our ECHO consultant. From day one, she was organized, prepared and followed-up on all the details leading up to the workshop. She also checked-in with us after the workshop to offer her help with any questions.

During the training, the flow was perfect. It included operational information (with a lengthy e-book for reference), specific examples, a live ECHO session, and a chance to practice what we learned with constructive feedback/discussion to help us formulate best practices within our own context. She was also willing and available to accommodate us in meeting with a variety of stakeholders, which was extremely beneficial. Thank you Erika for giving us the knowledge and practical experience that we needed to launch 3 ECHOs in a short amount of time.”

Project ECHO is a powerful training model that is uniquely effective, particularly in areas of dynamic complexity where other training modalities don’t suffice.  As the former Director of Global Replication for the ECHO Institute at UNM (for over 6 years), I am uniquely positioned to provide a broad set of services related to Project ECHO, including training and technical assistance.  I understand the ECHO model inside and out, created the replication process and served as the primary trainer of ECHO hubs and superhubs around the world.  I have presented on ECHO to conferences large and small, including the keynote address at the Prevent Cancer Foundation 2018 conference (see more here)

As a highly nimble and experienced trainer and consultant, I travel the world to provide customized, strategic training and support to authorized ECHO partner organizations (who have already signed partnership agreements), their spokes or networks and other stakeholders.

I am also an authorized US government vendor, and can provide support to US government entities who are interested in leveraging the ECHO model to amplify their impact, whether in the US or around the world.

Available services include:

  • comprehensive, customized training (for both the host organizations, i.e. “hubs” and participating community members, i.e. “spokes”)in the ECHO model and Virtual Knowledge Network variations
